How can it be that nobody has invented a device able to register fragrances yet? How much would you give to preserve the fragrances dear to you? I would like to preserve so many of them. From the ones that come up to my mind right now, there would be: the fragrance of lilac, because it reminds me of my grandmother and our name-day. The fragrance of jasmine, it's so characteristic for June in my garden. The smell of apples, I prefer their smell to the taste. The odour of gasoline, which surprisingly brings the idea of freedom to my mind. The narcotic smell of the floor paste in the air after cleaning the wooden floor. The sulphureous smell of the match, when you strike it. So few people I knew used a match to light a cigarette. The odour of the smoke from the candle, when you extinguish it. The characteristic smell of the cupboard, where your grandmother used to keep cookies, coffee, tea and sugar once. The smell of homemade cake. The smell of a new photographic film, when you open the box. Imagine you could play it back at any time. That you could share it with anybody just like that instead of describing every smell in words. Fragrances stir imagination. We know how to capture image, but we don't know how to capture fragrance. Of course, they know how to reproduce fragrances in the perfume industry, but there is a difference in having it in a bottle (genie in a bottle:) and having it just like that without the need to carry a bottle with you. Finally, imagine that you could combine the two, image with fragrance.

bottles have become increasingly popular among home brewers. This is partly to do with the fact that a lot of home brew kits these days include them as part of the set-up, and it's partly to do with the fact that it's getting near on impossible to find beer in crown seal bottles at the liquor store. But are PET bottles as good as glass?
