Today, I would like to share with you great music performed by very talented, though small artists, band Tolia from Georgia. In my hometown, every year a festival called Open Gardens takes place. Average people open their gardens and organize events of different sort - it can be a concert, an exhibition of photos from a journey to the other side of the globe, an exhibition of paintings, a dancing party, wine or tea degustation, bike trip and so on. Everybody can find something of interest. What I found most interesting this year was a concert of children's band from Georgia, Tolia, accompanied by an exhibition from a trip to Southern Caucasus. Of course, I took all my equipment diplomatically packed in my big "doctor's" bag and captured a few amateur recordings from the concert. Of course, the quality is so so, but it's surely better than nothing. You cannot really find better recordings on the internet nor buy a CD with the music. Of course, as a professional (I hate this word, but it's best to desribe my not that innocent status), I realize that I infringe to some extent copyrights to the music. Well, the only way I can explain myself, is that if a CD or DVD from a concert is published, I will be the first to buy one or even more for my friends, because I truly find Tolia a musical discovery that deserves a professional recorphoto projectsding. Hopefully, it will happen soon and I will be able to get rid of those amaetur recordings and post a link to something more professional. Of course, if you're lucky enough, you will learn that every year a charity concert takes place in Musical Theatre Roma in Warsaw: Artists to Children of Georgia. Infatuated by the Sunday concert, when I learned that there is a concert next day in a place with much better acoustics than a garden at the backyard, I bought a last minute ticket for the event. An unforgettable experience! Apart from Tolia, you could also listen to most renown music artists from Poland (Kayah, Piaseczny, Soyka, Czessband and many other artists) and Aida from Georgia. All that live in an incredibly and extraordianarily warm and sponatenuous ambience. Too much impressions at a time. A MUST for real audiophiles. The income from the concert goes to orphaned children from Georgia. Last year part of the orphange was renovated: kitchen, bathroom and other rooms. This year a playground will be build. The concert was organized by the Foundation Smiling Faces (you can find more about the foundation here: http://www.smilingfaces.org.pl/). If only you wish to support children from Georgia, you shall visit this site. For all of you, who know Polish and would like to learn something more about Georgia, there are certainly two MUST's: Toasty Gruzińskie - Zapomniana Sztuka Światowej Biesiady by Giorgi Maglakelidze (http://www.toastygruzinskie.pl/) and Gaumardżos! Opowieści z Gruzji by Anna Dziewit-Meller and Marcin Meller (http://notatkicoolturalne.blox.pl/2011/05/Czy-lubi-pani-czacze-Gaumardzos-Gruzja-wedlug.html). Soon I shall post some stills from the concert to give you a visual idea of the event. After all, children were dressed in traditional costumes. Girls in turquoise dresses, boys in black costumes with turqoise accentss. Played on traditional instruments and performed traditional dances from the region. For the time being listen to the music! It's wonderful. I have been listening to those amateur recordings non stop since Sunday. Hope you will enjoy it! http://viktoriatucholka.wrzuta.pl/audio/4viBM787WKi/tolia_track_1 http://viktoriatucholka.wrzuta.pl/audio/aXKdVYFaiCa/tolia_track_2 http://viktoriatucholka.wrzuta.pl/audio/7u5VBFKUlJc/tolia_track_3
